What is Pounce?
Pounce is an app that connects people to the things they love through simply snapping a picture. Using the celebrated Slyce visual search platform, Pounce users are able to snap images of any real world products and instantly be directed to relevant close-matching items which can be purchased with literally a few clicks from one of several leading global retailers.
How do I purchase with Pounce?
Very simple: just point the Pounce scanner at a real world product OR product image in a circular or catalog and the product will automatically be recognized. Next click Buy Now to complete your order.
Who am I buying from?
You buy directly from well-known retailers. Payment processing, packaging and shipping are done directly by the retailer you buy from.
How does Pounce work?
Pounce securely stores information that is required to complete an order, such as shipping and billing info. Upon a purchase, Pounce communicates with the retailer's website and passes on the required information so an order can be completed. It's the same process as completing the checkout "manually" by filling in all the forms on the retailer's website. Pounce automates this process.
Does Pounce support Rewards programs?
Not yet. Soon Pounce will allow you to enter your loyalty cards details and automatically gain reward points as you shop from various retailers.
Do you have an Android app?
Pounce is currently available on iOS devices. We are working hard to make Pounce available for Android users very soon.
Can I use Pounce as a QR scanner?
Sure! Pounce can quickly detect any type of QR code. URLs will be opened in the default mobile browser.
Is Pounce free to use?
Absolutely! Purchasing with Pounce is the same as purchasing directly from the retailer (except that it's much easier). No additional or hidden fees are involved.
Can I buy a gift and send it to someone else?
Yes! Simply add the shipping address of the recipient. All other details remain the same.
Do I have to sign-in or create an account to use Pounce?
No. During your first purchase, Pounce will ask for your shipping address and payment info. This information will be securely saved on your mobile device and used in further purchases.
What products can I buy using Pounce?
Pounce recognizes products in weekly ads, circulars and catalogs of large brands. Most products that can be purchased online should be available for purchase with Pounce. Products that can only be purchased in a physical store are not available for purchase with Pounce.
How can I check my order status?
Soon after completing an order, you will get a confirmation email from the retailer you just purchased from. Order tracking information is included in that email, simply follow the instructions.
Will I get a receipt or purchase confirmation?
Yes. After a successful purchase you will get a purchase confirmation to your mailbox directly from the retailer you purchased from.
What is your return policy?
Since all purchases are fulfilled by well-known retailers and vendors, please refer to the specific retailer or vendor return policy.
What if I need customer service?
For technical issues, please use the "Contact Us" page. For order related issues, please contact the retailer's customer service directly.
Is Pounce Secure?
Absolutely! Pounce uses SSL connections to securely transfer information between the handheld device and the retailer's website. It also encrypts sensitive data that is stored on the mobile device.
Is Pounce PCI compliant?
Yes. Pounce is fully compliant with PCI-DSS Level 2 for Service Providers (version 3.0).
How do you protect my credit/debit card details?
Your credit card data is securely stored on your handheld device. The card number is never stored on any cloud. The credit/debit card details are shared only with the retailer you purchase from at the time of purchase, as you would normally do when purchasing directly on their website.
Will I start getting marketing material from some vendor/retailer after making a purchase from them?
No. Pounce automatically opts you out from receiving marketing materials. Should you wish to receive marketing materials from a specific retailer, please refer to their website.
Who do you share my personal info with?
Pounce only shares your personal information with the retailer you purchase from within the context of a specific purchase. We never share your information with any other 3rd party.
Why am I asked to provide my email and phone number?
The minimum information that is required to complete an order includes your full name, email, telephone number, shipping address and payment info. Phone number and email are required for sending your purchase confirmation and for shipping related questions. Your email will never be used to send spam.
Does Pounce collect any information about me?
Pounce collects anonymous information about products purchases and app usage. Such information is aggregated and anonymous.
Does Pounce store my order/purchase history?
We back up your purchase history on our secure server for audit purposes and for cross-device support (so you can see your purchase history on your tablet even if you made the purchase using your smartphone and vice-versa). We will never transfer your purchase history to a 3rd party without your prior permission.
How do I delete all my personal information including my credit card info?
Simply uninstall the app.
How do I prevent someone else from making unwanted purchases from my mobile device?
You can set a PIN code to protect yourself from unwanted purchases.
What if my phone has been stolen?
Even if your phone is stolen, your credit card details aren't accessible. In order to protect yourself from unwanted purchases by others, simply set a PIN code to protect purchases. You will find this option in the Contact Info page (accessible from the app menu).
